China: No reincarnating without a license

Being a living Buddha is not as easy as it used to be. From the Timesonline:
Tibet's living Buddhas have been banned from reincarnation without permission from China's atheist leaders. (read the rest of the story)

They should become Bapist Buddhists (cf. Anglican Muslim priestess), so they can benefit from the separation of church & state.

So... after you're reincarnated, do you have to re-apply for the license for the next time around?

What is sad is that the Buddhists and the communists are both lost and are grasping at something that will fail them. We should pray for the Christian church in China to continue to flourish.
