Friday photo--early training for motherhood

These sisters are children of John and Cindy Swaska, fellow members of Grace Baptist Church. Anne is learning early how to multi-task, getting a jump on preparing for motherhood.

Hmm...I wonder if having that ability is some sort of evolutionary thing?

My wife enjoyed that picture! She thinks it is a great way to get more things done around the house!

Both of those girls are special. I am grateful for their dad letting me put it up.

If evolution were true, moms would have 4 arms and eyes in the back of their head! :-) Anne seems to be managing that bottle without an opposable big toe!

I love this picture. Being the mother of seven, it looks very familiar to me.

Yay Ann!!

Such talent! And she didn't even get distracted by the picture being taken....such diligence!
I would expect no less from one of our girls at Grace!

That's awesome ... a natural talent!

My wife's gonna love this, but who wouldn't?

Hmm. I love this blog, but this might even be my favorite post so far!

My wife is cracking. What a heritage from the Lord are our little ones...Hey, I wonder if she knows Greek? Dr. Gentry @ SBTS is pouring it on in only the second week of school--though in a very kind-hearted, encouraging manner. Your tutelage would be greatly appreciated Ms. Swaska:)

How sad! This sweet baby deserves to be held and paid attention to while she is being fed. I pray no one here thinks this is the type of behavior we should encourage in our daughters or that mothers should ever practice.

I assure you that sweet baby is held, cuddled and cared for far more than you can imagine. She is one of 4 children in the Swaska family, all adopted, of various ethnicities and special needs. Lydia, the baby was a premie who is, as this pic indicates doing very well at 8 months. She is one of the infant darlings of our church (our older children, youth, and many adults line up to hold her) and the recipient of sacrificial love and care at home.

Her mom and dad are the kind of parents that have learned how to love and cherish their children without turning them into idols--something that every child needs.
