Building Bridges Conference #3-Music
Mike Harland of LifeWay is leading our singing for the conference and is doing an outstanding job in guiding us in worship. Theology sings and those who recognize the importance of theology tend to love to sing. That is as it should be since all theology should lead to doxology.
Here is one song that we haven't sung, though I understand that someone emailed it to Ed Stetzer suggesting that he ask Mike sing it as a special today. ;-)

I'm not really sure what to say...wow...yeah...that sure was something.
That was just cruel. Even Armenians shouldn't be forced to listen to that. I'll never get the five seconds I listened to that back or out of my head. Shame Tom Shame!

I bet Jonah wished he had known that truth: even after spending 3 days smelling decayed fish, I can say "NO" and then God will leave me alone.

Just got home from the conference. It was awesome - despite Yarnell's, at times, ungracious demeanor and Keathley's rather exhaustive tangent into Molinism. (Are we gonna have to build a bridge to the Jesuits now?)
BTW, Mike was much more inspiring, in tune, encouraging & biblically solid than the Joy Quartet's clip.
Somehow I just knew that song was going to come up...
If I didn't know better I'd say that was a spoof! It sure makes God sound like some wishy-washy female ...
Surely someone could come up with a better Armenian song than that...
What a pity that God is so powerless...He can create the world - but He cannot save.
While I am tempted to make fun of the quartet, the truth is a few short years ago I would have wore this song out on my ipod. I thank God not only for His grace but for opening my heart to it. I feel for the quartet and other Armenians because they are missing out on the glory.

Stop picking on poor ArmEnians (geographic neighbors of such nations as Turkey and Iran)!
I think that your complaint is against ArmInians.
Remember: Spellcheck hates Armenians and tries to turn them all into Arminians.
Is there a more man-centered song then that?
The only more "man-centered" song I can think of is The Greatest Love of All by Whitney Houston. But I guess technically that's more like a "woman-centered" song. Sorry.
