Are Most SBC Churches Faithful to Their Heritage?

Survey Results

When the original charter of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary was adopted in 1858, every professor at the institution was required to teach according to the Abstract of Principles below. This requirement remains today.

We believe the Abstract represents the doctrinal consensus in the SBC for the first 50 years or more of her existence. Our survey is intended to reveal whether people are still being taught these doctrines in Southern Baptist churches today.

God originally created man in His own image, and free from sin; but, through the temptation of Satan, he transgressed the command of God, and fell from his original holiness and righteousness; whereby his posterity inherit a nature corrupt and wholly opposed to God and His law, are under condemnation, and as soon as they are capable of moral action, become actual transgressors.
